Anvesha, the annual science festival of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Thiruvananthapuram, is a vibrant three-day celebration of science and innovation. Held during the Varsha Semester under the esteemed guidance of Honourable Director Prof. J. N. Moorthy, the festival is organized by the dynamic student-run Science and Technology Council (STC), with support from the various science clubs functioning under STC.
Anvesha is committed to promoting scientific curiosity and awareness among students and the general public. The festival features a diverse range of outreach activities, engaging exhibitions, hands-on workshops, and interactive sessions that bridge the gap between scientific research and society. Through a combination of pre-festival and post-festival events, Anvesha provides a holistic platform that encourages the development of essential skills such as communication, teamwork, and scientific reasoning. It serves as a catalyst for inspiration, learning, and the spirit of scientific research.
An engaging and entertaining event where participants, either solo or in teams, solve a diverse set of puzzles including rebus, anagrams, and crosswords. Designed to stimulate critical thinking and enhance problem-solving skills, this event offers a dynamic and enjoyable approach to lateral reasoning and logical deduction.
A thrilling, hands-on event that places participants in the role of detectives tasked with solving a simulated criminal case. Using scientific reasoning, observational skills, and team collaboration, participants analyze clues and evidence to unravel the mystery of the given case, simulating real-world investigation.

BAHFEST (Bad Ad Hoc Hypotheses Festival) is a unique and entertaining event where participants present imaginative, fictional hypotheses with a scientific twist. The challenge lies in convincingly defending these wild ideas through witty logic, creativity, and presentation. This event is a celebration of humor, innovation, and scientific imagination.
Presented by the Mathematics Club of IISER Thiruvananthapuram, the Integration Bee is a mathematics challenge dedicated to the art of integration. The event invites math enthusiasts to compete in teams across two specialized tracks: Real Integrals and Complex Integrals. It is designed to test speed, accuracy, and conceptual understanding in an exciting competitive format.
A challenging event where participants are required to deduce the internal configuration of a mysterious electrical circuit. By manipulating inputs and observing changes in current and voltage, participants develop and test hypotheses regarding the components hidden inside the "black box." This event combines elements of accuracy, speed, and scientific deduction.
An inter-college online treasure hunt conducted in two stages: Prelims and Finals. Participants solve clues and mystery questions embedded in each stage, testing their logical reasoning, general knowledge, and analytical thinking. With every solved clue, the intensity builds toward a thrilling final round where only the most perceptive minds prevail.
